In a world where we often demand and pride ourselves in doing more than one thing at a time, there is a great need and yearning to relax deeply into ourselves. When we relax deeply and completely, we quiet ourselves and suddenly the non-essentials fall away and we connect with what is truly important. As a result, all is in balance from the inside out. When we are in balance, we feel our bodies and we become present... we do not gravitate toward addictive patterns of self-defeating behaviors such as over-eating, over-doing, over-extending, numbing-out, or involve ourselves in busy work and distractions just for the sake of it. Instead, we are more aware and in attunement with ourselves and with the world around us and naturally move toward harmony and peace. Restorative Yoga is a gentle and simple process that allows us to breathe fully, relax completely and remember ourselves, our bodies and our lives.
These classes are relaxed and user friendly and students will learn yoga poses for stretching and strengthening the mind and body.

Yin Yoga emphasizes deep release with long holds which promote greater circulation of energy through the energy channels of the body. Yin Yoga targets the deeper connective tissue and offers a wonderful compliment to more "Yang" styles of yoga such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa. This class will also introduce the foundations of mindfulness training. This quiet and contemplative form of yoga prepares the practitioner for deeper meditative practices.
Class starts with a talk about meditation technique and will include short meditation time. Based on the Vipassana tradition.
